Today marked the last official day of school UWCSEA's Grade 12 IB Diploma students prior to the commencement of study leave. To farewell the students - some of whom have been at the school since they were in K2 - the traditional Leavers Assembly was held in the Senior Sports Hall this morning. While the Grade 12 students traditionally attend their final days of school 'dressed up' in a broad interpretation of a range of themes, the Leavers Assembly does feature award presentations for Grade 12 students across the breadth of academic and artistic attainment, as well as peer-nominated awards for overall contribution to life at the College. Sporting achievements will be honoured at the Sports Awards Dinner this evening. "The Final Awards Ceremony is a very special occasion as it provides an opportunity for us to recognise the achievements of so many of our talented Grade 12 students. It is also a fitting way for the students from K1 to Grade 11 to say farewell to the graduating class, who this year have made an extraordinary contribution to the College," said Head of College Julian Whiteley in his address to the students. This year, students from all the schools fare welled the Grade 12's with a range of presentations and advise. The well-rehearsed rendition of 'You've got the whole world in your hands' by the Infant School featured the final chorus sung in English, Spanish and Chinese! Grade 12 students will begin sitting their IB exams on Tuesday, 3 May. Congratulations to all the award winners and good luck in your exams!
