Using Facebook Connect technology you are now able to post your UWCSEA Alumni website updates to your personal Facebook wall! You can now share news about alumni events listed on the alumni website, photos you have posted on the site, your blog posts or comments on blog posts etc among your Facebook friends.

Here’s what you can do!

The SocialConnect add-on to the UWCSEA Alumni website leverages the Facebook Connect technology, allowing our alumni members to sign-in to the UWCSEA Alumni’s private online community using your Facebook credentials (username/password). Also, once signed in, you have the option to post updates to your personal Facebook wall when you perform any of the following actions within the UWCSEA Alumni’s private community:

• Post or comment on community blogs
• Post or comment on group blogs
• Post or comment on personal blogs
• Upload photos to a group gallery
• Upload photos to personal galleries
• Update personal profiles
• Post personal files or links
• Post job openings within the Career Center
• Update resumés/CVs within the member’s personal profiles
• Comment on news members have read on the UWCSEA Alumni website
• Post to a community forum
• Post to a group forum
• Promote an  alumni event you see on the UWCSEA Alumni website

How to use SocialConnect?

When you first log-in, click on “Connect with Facebook” and provide your Facebook credentials (username/password). You will also be asked for your UWCSEA Alumni website credentials as this allows your  UWCSEA Alumni profile to be linked to your Facebook Profile. 

If you have clicked on ‘Remember me on this computer’- when you return to the site, the site will retain your alumni website sign-in information but not your Facebook credentials. Click on the ‘Connect to Facebook’ link below the ‘Edit My Profile’ links to re-establish the link.

If you have signed out of the UWCSEA Alumni website, you can sign in using the "Connect with Facebook" icon  anytime and you will be signed into both.

Is my content still secure within my community?

Yes, though your Facebook profile may feature links to content on UWCSEA Alumni website, access to private content is controlled by UWCSEA Alumni website’s security setting. To access, private content, individuals must be registered and approved members.
